Mark Levine is a Professor in the Departments of Clinical Epidemiology & Biostatistics, and Medicine at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He holds the Buffet Taylor Chair in Breast Cancer Research at McMaster University. He is a past recipient of the O. Harold Warwick Prize (1999) from the National Cancer Institute of Canada. Dr. Levine received his medical degree from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and completed his residency in internal medicine at McMaster University. He completed his training in hematology and oncology at Duke University Medical Centre, Durham, North Carolina, USA. In addition, Dr. Levine received a master's degree in clinical epidemiology and biostatistics from McMaster University.
In 1982, Dr. Levine became a member of the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University, and a medical oncologist at the Hamilton Regional Cancer Centre. He continues to maintain both these appointments. His clinical research is in the areas of breast cancer and venous thrombosis. He is Director of the Clinical Trials Methodology Group of the Henderson Research Centre, Hamilton, and Chairman of Health Canada's Steering Committee on Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Care and Treatment of Breast Cancer. Dr. Levine is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
