Professor Julian is an experienced statistician and trial methodologist who joined the Henderson Research Centre in 1996. He works primarily with the investigators and research fellows in the adult and pediatric thrombosis and clinical oncology research programs. Prior to joining the group, Professor Julian had been active in occupational and environmental health research and teaching for over 20 years at McMaster University. He has extensive experience in the design, conduct and analysis of cohort studies, case-control investigations and clinical trials. He has broad-based expertise with specific skills in the areas of record linkage, quality control, laboratory data analysis, compliance testing, modelling epidemiologic data, registry design and meta-analysis. Currently, Jim has developed an interest in the measurement of quality of life in clinical trials, and the related area of analyzing longitudinal and multilevel data.
