The Henderson Research Centre (HRC) was established in 1988 as a joint initiative of the Hamilton Health Sciences and McMaster University.

The Henderson Research Centre has three main programmes which interact closely. These are: Experimental Thrombosis and Atherosclerosis (ETA) under the Directorship of Dr. Jeffrey Weitz; Clinical Trials Methodology (CTM) under the Directorship of Dr. Mark Levine; and the Clinical Thromboembolism (CTE) under the Directorship of Dr. Sam Schulman. In addition, there is an active research group in bone metabolism headed by Dr. Stephen Shaughnessy.   

Mission

"The mission of the Henderson Research Centre is to conduct research into the pathogenesis, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of thrombosis and vascular disease and to provide a resource for key areas of research as outlined in the mission statement of the Hamilton Health Sciences."
